Where are you going? How are you going to get there? These questions are important for so many journeys we take in life - not only those geographical journeys but also those personal and life changing ones. Your fitness is the one journey that affects all other areas of your life and so it's one that's important to get right - and that starts with knowing where you want to go.
Once we've decided to take control of our fitness and health, life becomes so much more fulfilling and rewarding. You wake to great each day feeling refreshed and ready for the challenges ahead. You take on those challenges with energy and confidence. You move through your day with renewed ease and purpose knowing that you are in control. It is amazing how making small changes to your life and routine can have such a big impact on all other areas. Therefore it's important to make sure those changes are the right ones.
It's appropriate that my first blog article is about new beginnings. The journey that we are on together is one filled with positive change. The goals we set now will affect our success and drive us forward to achieve it. So take a moment to really think about what it is you want to achieve. Take a read of our goal setting articles to learn more - but essentially defining what it is you want in a clear and precise manner is the first step. Then make sure that the goal is one that is realistic. While it is commendable to be ambitious and aspirational, we also have to be measured and honest. That's not so say abandon your ultimate goal because it may be unattainable, it means it might be that we work on something a bit more tangible for now - something that perhaps gets us part of the way there.
